Miggy-Hosmer battle among AL All-Star races

The Royals are in a very good place when it comes to the 2015 Esurance All-Star Game Ballot voting for the American League's starting position players in next month's All-Star Game. But there is plenty of time for players from other teams to make their moves.

As of the second update of the voting released Monday, three Kansas City players -- catcher Salvador Perez (2,681,063 votes), outfielder Lorenzo Cain (2,506,859) and third baseman Mike Moustakas (2,385,024) -- lead the entire AL pack, with two of their teammates, shortstop Alcides Escobar (2,269,046) and outfielder Alex Gordon (1,917,834), also in line for starting spots.

The Tigers' Miguel Cabrera (2,123,752) continues to pace AL first basemen, the Astros' Jose Altuve (2,020,143) remains the leader at second base, and the Angels' Mike Trout (2,371,435) -- the league's No. 4 vote-getter -- holds down the third outfield position. The Mariners' Nelson Cruz (2,108,584) remains the league's top vote-getting designated hitter.

Each of the leaders from last week's first report are the same, while Moustakas had a big week to move into the third overall spot. He leads Toronto's Josh Donaldson (1,496,065) for the starting third-base spot.

The closest race remains at first base, where Cabrera has just a 70,515-vote lead on Kansas City's Eric Hosmer (2,053,237), the top vote-getter among those who are not leading at their positions.

Escobar continues to lead Detroit's Jose Iglesias (1,277,655) in the shortstop race, while Cruz held on to his lead over Kansas City's Kendrys Morales (1,827,730). Oakland's Stephen Vogt (1,401,747) trails Perez for the top catcher spot.

Baltimore's Adam Jones (1,514,836) is on the outside looking in as the fourth outfielder, leading Kansas City's Alex Rios (1,249,073) and Detroit's Yoenis Cespedes (1,024,346). Altuve leads Royals second baseman Omar Infante (1,442,990), keeping a Royals player in the mix at every position.
