Lindor can use push from fans in ASG voting

Vote for the shortstop and other Indians players until June 30

May 31st, 2016

CLEVELAND -- The first Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot voting update was released on Tuesday and surprisingly, Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor was not one of the top-five vote leaders at his position.
The top five in the AL at shortstop were Xander Bogaerts of Boston, Alcides Escobar of Kansas City, Troy Tulowitzki of Toronto, Carlos Correa of Houston and J.J. Hardy of Baltimore. Entering Tuesday, Lindor had posted betters numbers than four of the five shortstops in batting average (.311), OPS (.789), OBP (.369), and WAR (2.1).
Another Indians player who has a similar case is second baseman Jason Kipnis. On Tuesday, his average (.270), OPS (.746), OBP (.318), and WAR (0.7) were better marks than Royals second baseman Omar Infante, who was second in the voting at second base.
