DETROIT -- Francisco Lindor had his first career multi-home run game Saturday as the Indians blanked the Tigers, 6-0, at Comerica Park.
"I think it's my first multi-homer game ever," Lindor said. "I don't think I even did it in the Minor Leagues."

Lindor hit one in the first inning and one in the eighth, accounting for two of the Indians' four homers on the day, which extended the team's recent power surge.

Cleveland has scored 51 runs during its eight-game winning streak. The Indians have belted 33 extra-base hits in that span.
Lindor said his first-inning homer, paired with a leadoff home run from Carlos Santana, was important in helping the Indians build early momentum, something they have done a lot lately to give their starting pitchers some extra cushion.

"Whenever we have our starters out there and we score in the first inning, it's huge for every single starter we have," Lindor said. "And for the whole team, too, because our chances of winning go up."
Catcher Yan Gomes returned to the lineup Saturday after sitting a few days out with a cyst on his back. And he came back in a big way with a ninth-inning home run to left field. Gomes went 1-for-4, but had a couple of other hard-hit balls.

"It's definitely a good feeling," Gomes said. "It's definitely good for my confidence."
Manager Terry Francona said he thinks that if Gomes can get going, his team becomes even more dangerous.
"It's nice to see him get rewarded for a nice swing, because he's been wearing it and he has taken some better swings [lately]," Francona said. "First at-bat, he got out in front of one, but he just didn't get enough of it. When he gets going, that will be great for us."
