Expected rain causes Bucs-Yanks postponement

Game will be made up Sunday as second game of single-admission doubleheader

Friday's game between the Yankees and Pirates at Yankee Stadium has been postponed due to a continued forecast of inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled as the second game of a single-admission doubleheader on Sunday.

Only tickets dated Sunday, May 18, will be valid for the doubleheader. Tickets for Friday's originally scheduled game will not be valid for Sunday's doubleheader unless exchanged (subject to availability).

The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 1:05 p.m. ET as originally scheduled. The second game will start approximately a half-hour following the conclusion of the first game. Gates will open to fans with valid tickets at 11 a.m.

David Phelps was to start Friday for the Yankees opposite Pittsburgh's Edinson Volquez.

Fans holding paid tickets for Friday's game may exchange their paid tickets for any regular season game at Yankee Stadium within 12 months of the postponed game (subject to availability).

Complimentary (COMP) tickets for Friday's game are not valid for any future games. COMP tickets or equivalent tickets bear no cash value and do not have any additional benefits that may be offered to ticket(s) with a dollar value.
