MIAMI -- The new television voice of the Marlins is already familiar to a national audience.

The Marlins and Fox Sports Florida on Wednesday announced Paul Severino will be the television play-by-play announcer, joining color analyst Todd Hollandsworth in the booth.

Severino joins the Fox Sports Florida broadcast after being a longtime on-air talent for MLB Network.

Severino has been a play-by-play announcer for MLB Network game telecasts, including the World Baseball Classic. He also is a familiar face on MLB Network, hosting numerous studio shows since 2011.

"I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to live out my dream as the voice of a Major League team," Severino said. "I'm grateful to Fox Sports Florida for affording me this wonderful opportunity. As the Marlins build toward a level of sustained success, I'm thrilled to be able to have the best seat in the house and, along with Todd Hollandsworth and our production team, bring the fans closer to this promising young club.

"I'm looking forward to making Miami my home and becoming a part of the Marlins baseball community year round."

Severino replaces Rich Waltz in the booth.

Fox Sports Florida will broadcast all Marlins games this year, except those airing as MLB national exclusive games.

Along with Severino and Hollandsworth, the Fox Sports Florida broadcast team returns Craig Minervini as host of the Marlins Live show, with Jessica Blaylock back as a reporter and Jeff Nelson as Marlins Live analyst.

In addition to baseball, Severino recently served as play-by-play announcer for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Hockey tournament in Buffalo, N.Y. Severino also spent time as a studio host on NHL Network and as a host on sports talk radio shows on TuneIn Radio.

Prior to MLB Network, Severino served as an anchor and host across ESPN's programming. His roles included anchoring ESPNews and "SportsCenter," as well as hosting "Fantasy Focus" on ESPN.com and halftime shows for college football games on ESPN3.com.
