Sanchez, Hicks crack back-to-back jacks

NEW YORK -- The Yankees have launched plenty of home runs this season, but until Saturday, none of them had come back-to-back. That changed in the second inning, as and cracked a pair of successive drives off Athletics starter .
Sanchez opened the scoring with a rocket that struck the facing of the second deck in left field, tying Didi Gregorius and for the team lead with his 10th homer. Hicks followed with a drive to right-center, his third of the season, that gave New York a 2-0 lead.
The Sanchez homer was hit with an exit velocity of 111.7 mph, traveling a projected 423 feet, per Statcast™. Hicks' came off the bat at 103.8 mph and traveled an estimated 404 feet.

New York entered play on Saturday with 53 homers, fourth most in the Majors behind the Angels (56), Indians (55) and Blue Jays (55).
