SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants dismissed strength and conditioning coach Carl Kochan on Thursday, the club confirmed on Friday.
The Giants entered Friday's series opener against the National League West-leading Colorado Rockies on an 11-game losing streak, the franchise's worst since 1951, when it still played at the Polo Grounds in New York. 
Kochan worked the past seven seasons with the Giants.
Manager Bruce Bochy spent Friday's pregame media session discussing his team's mentality during the current skid.
"It's not fun to deal, let's be straight with that," Bochy said. "But the fact is we've been in almost every game. We could've won almost every one of these games. But, on the other side, that probably makes it even a little more frustrating."
