Giants share Cactus League life on Snapchat

March 12th, 2016

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- If you wanted to spend a day with the Giants at Spring Training, Friday presented a free opportunity.
It was Snapchat Day throughout the Major Leagues, as all 30 teams provided glimpses of what players do before and during an exhibition game. Giants fans received an especially thorough look at a typical day in the Cactus League, one in which San Francisco lost to Seattle, 5-4.
There was Madison Bumgarner, looking intense and purposeful even though he wasn't pitching as he strode from the clubhouse and loosened up his valuable left arm.
There was the Giants' popular double-play combination of second baseman Joe Panik and shortstop Brandon Crawford, waiting their turn at the batting cage.
And once the exhibition game against the Seattle Mariners began, there was plenty of Hunter Pence, the right fielder who made his Cactus League debut after recovering from right Achilles tendinitis. Pence hit a two-run homer and had a busy day defensively, as if he were giving Snapchat his own personal show.
