Giants Minor Leaguer Jones suspended for 50 games

Outfielder tested positive for drug of abuse for second time in career

Chuckie Jones, a Minor League outfielder in San Francisco's organization, was suspended for 50 games on Thursday for a violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

Jones, 22, tested positive for a drug of abuse for the second time in his career. The 2010 seventh-round Draft pick is currently on the roster for San Jose in the Class-A California League.

A native of Columbia, Mo., Jones has played his entire career in San Francisco's organization. He batted .256 with 15 home runs for San Jose last season and is a career .238 hitter in the Minors.
