The Giants continue to show interest in Korean free-agent infielder Jae-gyun Hwang, sources told MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi on Tuesday.
Hwang, 29, is an unrestricted free agent and won't require a posting fee.
Hwang has spent the majority of his career with the Korea Baseball Organization's Lotte Giants, hitting .330/.391/.558 with 26 home runs and 104 RBIs in 118 games last season. He is a .285/.349/.433 career hitter with 114 homers in 10 seasons.

Hwang profiles as a third baseman, which fits San Francisco's needs and could allow to serve in a utility role. The club also signed veteran infielder to a Minor League deal with a Spring Training invite earlier this offseason.
The KBO has historically been known as an offense-friendly league, which makes it difficult for evaluators to project how power numbers will translate to Major League Baseball. The most recent successful transition has been Pirates infielder , who has hit .273 with 36 homers in two seasons with Pittsburgh.
Three other Korean hitters signed with MLB teams last offseason with varying degrees of success in 2016; Minnesota's Byungho Park hit just .191 with 12 homers in 62 games, while Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim (.302/.382/.420) and Mariners first baseman Dae-Ho Lee (.253, 14 homers) were solid contributors.
, who hit .250 in parts of two Major League seasons from 2011-12, parlayed two seasons and 87 homers in Korea into a three-year deal worth at least $16 million from the Brewers in November.
