SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Displaying the durability that made him a postseason hero, left-hander Madison Bumgarner surrendered one hit in six innings on Wednesday for the Giants, who responded to a late Angels rally and rode a pair of RBIs from Michael Morse to a 7-4 win at Scottsdale Stadium.
After the Angels tied the game with a four-run seventh, Morse sparked a three-run eighth with a go-ahead RBI single off Justin Miller, scoring Mac Williamson, who hit a one-out double.
Looking poised to start San Francisco's April 2 season opener at Arizona, Bumgarner faced one batter over the minimum as he walked one and struck out three. Nolan Fontana's third-inning single represented the lone hit off Bumgarner, who accumulated a record 52 2/3 innings in the 2014 postseason.

Angels starter Tyler Skaggs and JC Ramirez limited the Giants to one hit before they surged for four sixth-inning runs. Eduardo Nunez drilled a leadoff double, stole third base and scored on Williamson's groundout. Morse's RBI double and Aaron Hill's run-scoring single sandwiched a throwing error by Ramirez that generated another San Francisco run.

Skaggs, who was skipped for a start with left shoulder weakness, was solid through two hitless innings of work, walking two and striking out two.
"I'm just happy to be out there and happy to compete again, felt really strong," Skaggs said.

The Angels scored four runs in the seventh off left-hander Ty Blach, a contender for the Giants' No. 5 starter's spot. Kole Calhoun's leadoff single launched a five-hit uprising that included Michael Trout's RBI double and run-scoring singles by Jose Pujols and Danny Espinosa. Martin Maldonado contributed a sacrifice fly that forged a 4-4 tie.

Angels Up Next: Angels ace Garrett Richards will make his third start of Cactus League play on Thursday, when the Angels travel to Salt River Fields to meet the Rockies in a 1:10 p.m. PT start, live on MLB.TV. Richards, who underwent a stem-cell injection rather than Tommy John surgery after suffering a partial ligament tear, had a strong second outing of the spring after a shaky first one.
