SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants right-hander Sergio Romo is continuing to recover from a strained elbow flexor tendon in his throwing arm and could be activated from the disabled list in 10 days to two weeks, manager Bruce Bochy said Friday.
Bochy said Romo, whose hasn't performed for the Giants since April 10, threw 24 pitches Friday in an extended spring training game in Arizona. He'll return to San Francisco to be examined Saturday before reporting to the Giants' Triple-A Sacramento affiliate to make a handful of appearances.
"He's getting close," Bochy said of Romo, who leads San Francisco's setup relief corps.
