Girardi won't face discipline for shoving camera

BOSTON -- Manager Joe Girardi will not face discipline for shoving a remote-controlled ESPN camera in the visiting dugout at Fenway Park during Wednesday's 5-1 loss to the Red Sox.

Girardi was angered that the camera rotated to shoot into the tunnel between the visiting dugout and the clubhouse, where Michael Pineda was talking to pitching coach Larry Rothschild and head athletic trainer Steve Donohue following his second-inning ejection.

A Yankees spokesperson said that the matter was closed between the team and Major League Baseball. The cameras are supposed to be used only to shoot into the dugout and on the field.

"I'm fine with MLB; MLB's fine with me," Girardi said. "I have an issue, though, with [ESPN] going down into the tunnel. I think that's flat wrong. It's meant for the dugout.

"I know everyone wants access, but there has to be some areas that we can go where we can actually communicate with players that there's not a microphone hearing us, or a camera watching lips. I mean, we have to have some privacy."
