Happ placed on Disabled List

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have placed LHP J.A. HAPP on the 15-day disabled list with a head contusion. RHP EDGAR GONZALEZ has had his contract selected from Buffalo of the International League (AAA).

HAPP, 30, was injured in the second inning of last night's contest, suffering a head contusion resulting from a line drive. The 6'6", 195 pound left-hander has posted a 2-2 record with a 4.91 ERA in seven starts this season and in 123 career games with Philadelphia, Houston and Toronto is 37-37 with a 4.23 ERA.

GONZALEZ, 30, has appeared in two contests for Toronto earlier this season, allowing two earned runs in 3.2 innings of relief. In four starts with Buffalo is 1-0 with a 5.49 ERA. The 6-2, 210 pound right-hander is 17-26 with a 5.83 ERA over 10 seasons with Arizona, Oakland, Houston and Toronto.
