Heavy traffic expected for weekend Padres games vs. Dodgers

The San Diego Padres announced today that heavy traffic is expected for all three weekend games against the Los Angeles Dodgers, especially Saturday, when a sellout crowd is expected for the 4:15 p.m. game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to Petco Park this weekend. To avoid additional traffic delays, fans should utilize public transportation or pre-purchase parking passes online at www.padres.com. Traffic and parking updates will be posted throughout the weekend at www.padres.com/traffic.

On Saturday, Padres parking lots are expected to fill up by 2:30 p.m., so fans are encouraged to park along Harbor Drive and utilize the pedestrian bridge from the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. Suggested routes and maps can be found at www.padres.com/transportation. The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) will offer additional "Special Event" trolley service from Qualcomm Stadium (with 5,000 free parking spots) and Mission Valley stations to the ballpark area. The North County Transit District (NCTD) offers a Coaster train that departs Oceanside Station at 1:50 p.m. and includes free trolley connections. For more information, visit the Access Guide page at www.padres.com or www.511sd.com.

To facilitate the flow of fans entering the ballpark, new Express Entry lanes will be open at each gate during the Dodgers series. Guests without bags or purses will be directed by signage and team members to enter immediately, without waiting in a bag search line. Moving forward, the Express Entry lanes will be used when crowds of 25,000 or more are expected.
