Heisey available after early exit on Sunday

CINCINNATI -- Reds outfielder Chris Heisey was OK on Monday for the series opener vs. the Cardinals after he came out of Sunday's game at Colorado with a sore left hamstring. Heisey was injured sliding into second base to break up a double play in the eighth inning, and he exited before the ninth.

Heisey, who missed two months earlier this season with a strained right hamstring, said that his left hamstring cramped up during the game.

"I hadn't started a game in a while, and I got on base four times yesterday," Heisey said on Monday. "I think I was just maybe a little overexerted. When I slid, I tucked my left leg underneath me. It kind of cramped up a little bit. … I'm feeling good."
