Hisashi Iwakuma Bobblehead Night July 12

Mariners salute Japan Night with special ticket discount to benefit Peace Winds America

Hisashi Iwakuma Bobblehead Night is Saturday, July 12, as the Mariners take on the Oakland Athletics (7:10pm first pitch). The first 20,000 fans will pick up their very own mini All-Star and American League Cy Young finalist, courtesy of ROOT SPORTS.

Specially priced tickets for the game are available at Mariners.com/Japan. Tickets are $14 for View Level (normally $20), $30 for Main Level (normally $40) and $35 for Club Level (normally $50). A portion of each ticket sold through this special offer will benefit Peace Winds America, a non-profit disaster preparedness and response organization headquartered in Seattle.

PWA, which responded immediately to the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Northeast Japan, is continuing its recovery programs targeting revitalization of the fishing industry in Miyagi Prefecture. PWA is working with maritime vocational schools, fishing cooperatives, fishermen and fish farmers to restore livelihoods and jumpstart the region's most vital industry. Donations from tickets purchased through the web-only offer will support the fishing industry in Northeast Japan and help restart the wider regional economy. Deadline to purchase is noon, Friday, July 11.

The Japan America Society of Washington is also sponsoring a pregame reception where members of Seattle's Japanese American community can meet and mingle with members of the Mariners front office. More information about the reception is available at JASSW.org
