Homestand Highlights for Texas Rangers-Oakland A's Series, April 28-30
Firestone In-Park All-Star Balloting begins on Monday night
Arlington, Texas-The Texas Rangers will host the defending American League West Division champion Oakland A's in a three-game series at Globe Life Park in Arlington next week. The clubs play on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, April 28, 29, and 30 with all three games starting at 7:05 p.m.
The series marks the Rangers' only home games between April 21 and May 6 as the team plays 11 of 14 on that road in that span. Texas won all three games in Oakland this week in the first 2014 meeting of the two clubs.
Firestone In-Park All-Star Balloting to select the starting lineups for the 2014 Major League All-Star Game begins on Monday night and continues at all Rangers home games through June 24. The Rangers on the 2014 ballot are: 1B-Prince Fielder; 2B-Jurickson Profar; SS-Elvis Andrus; 3B-Adrian Beltre; OF-Shin-Soo Choo, Leonys Martin, Alex Rios; C-Geovany Soto; DH-Mitch Moreland.
Beginning today, fans can also vote for the starters up to 25 times on texasrangers.com with the 2014 All-Star Game MLB.com Ballot sponsored by Experian. The 85th MLB All-Star Game will take place at Target Field in Minnesota on Tuesday, July 15.
Prior to Tuesday's game, the Rangers will honor Elvis Andrus as the team's all-time career leader in stolen bases. Andrus recorded his 173rd career steal on April 18 vs. Chicago to pass Ian Kinsler for first on the list.
The series finale is a Nolan Ryan Beef Dollar Hot Dog Wednesday and a Dr Pepper Autograph Wednesday with Rangers players and coaches signing at designated areas on the concourse between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.
