Santana has two-homer game at Triple-A
Houston's eighth-best prospect records fifth multi-HR game of career
Outfielder Domingo Santana, the Astros' No. 8 prospect, homered in his first two at-bats Saturday as Triple-A Oklahoma City defeated Memphis, 10-4, in a game shortened to eight innings by rain.
Santana, ranked No. 98 on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, finished the game 2-for-4 with a walk and three RBIs. It was his first multi-homer game of the season and the fifth of his career.
In his first trip to the plate, Santana led off the second inning with a home run to left field. In the next inning, he blasted a two-run homer to right-center field.
Santana now has homered on back-to-back nights and has six home runs in his past 12 games. In 50 games this season, he is hitting .295 with nine home runs and a .511 slugging percentage.
Right-hander Mike Foltynewicz, the Astros' No. 6 prospect and No. 47 overall, was the beneficiary of Santana's home runs. Foltynewicz allowed two runs on four hits and four walks in six innings. He struck out two.
Foltynewicz improved to 4-3 with the victory and snapped a brief two-game losing streak. He has a 3.75 ERA and has struck out 45 batters and walked 24 in 48 innings this season.
