Indians activate DH Jason Giambi from 15-day DL

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Activated DH JASON GIAMBI from the 15-day Disabled List.

Optioned RHP BLAKE WOOD to AAA Columbus.

Jason has been on the DL since March 30 after suffering a right rib fracture on March 7 vs. the Chicago Cubs (HBP). Giambi, 43, is currently fourth among active Major League players in home runs (438) and RBI (1436) and his making his 2014 debut on the Major League roster today. He spent three games rehabbing with Double-A Akron (April 11-16) last week.

Wood has gone 0-1 with a 7.11 ERA in 7 relief outings thus far in 2014 (6.1IP, 4H, 5R/ER, 7BB, 7K).
