Indians activate C Yan Gomes from paternity list
CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:
Activated C YAN GOMES from the Paternity List.
Placed DH JASON GIAMBI (right calf strain) on the 15-day Disabled List, retroactive to May 4.
Gomes is batting 7th in this evening's lineup against the Minnesota Twins in Progressive Field at 7:05PM ET after missing the last two games.
Giambi was removed from Saturday's game, May 3 vs. Chicago-AL, in the 6th inning and begins his second stay on the DL this season.
