Indians Activate OF David Murphy from DL; Recall INFJustin Sellers from Columbus

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Activated OF DAVID MURPHY (#7) from the 15-day Disabled List.

Recalled INF JUSTIN SELLERS (#1) from AAA Columbus.

Murphy has been on the 15-day DL with a strained right oblique since August 10, batting .262 (95-362) on the year with 21 doubles, 7 homers and 55 RBI in 109 games. He has spent the last two days rehabbing with AAA Columbus (1-6, HR, 2RBI, 2 games).

Sellers begins his third stint with Cleveland in 2014, his first since May 27. He has spent the majority of the season in Triple-A Columbus where he batted .254 (90-355) w/18 2B, 1 3B, 3HR, 40 RBI in 102 games. The versatile Sellers, who was acquired from the Dodgers on March 2, appeared in 67 games at SS, 18 games at 2B, 17 games in LF and 2 games at 3B for the Clippers. Over his last 18 games at AAA (July 27-end of season) he hit .292 (19-65) w/11 RBI and was 3-for-8 in their 2 playoff games (RS, RBI).

The current Major League roster currently stands at 34 players.
