DETROIT -- Indians center fielder Bradley Zimmer exited Saturday's 5-2 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park in the fourth inning, a half-inning after he tried to make a diving play on a John Holaday double.
Zimmer was evaluated for a possible concussion, but immediate tests were negative, manager Terry Francona said after the game. Zimmer was not available for comment, but he told reporters in passing that he thinks he will be fine.
"He's OK. It was precautionary because he had a little bit of blurred vision," Francona said. "He'll be monitored tonight and tomorrow for concussion symptoms, but he was not diagnosed with a concussion. He doesn't think he has one, but we certainly have to keep an eye on him."

With Cleveland leading 4-0, Holaday led off the third with a liner into the right-center-field gap, where Zimmer made a full extension attempt for the ball, which just nicked off his glove. Zimmer was shaken up on the play, but he was able to finish the inning. He did not appear to hit his head on the ground, but the impact from his body landing may have rattled him and caused his head to jerk.

Zimmer was replaced by rookie outfielder Greg Allen, who pinch-hit for Zimmer to lead off the fourth. Allen made his Major League debut in a pinch-hitting situation late in the second game of Friday's doubleheader and went on to get his first career hit in the sixth inning Saturday.

Zimmer tripled and scored in the Indians' four-run first inning and struck out in the second.
