TORONTO -- The Indians are two wins away from reaching the World Series, meaning Danny Salazar's comeback bid still has a heartbeat.
During Sunday's American League Championship Series workout at Rogers Centre, Salazar not only was with the team north of the border, but the right-hander also worked through a simulated game on the field. Cleveland, which holds a 2-0 lead over the Blue Jays in this best-of-seven series, left Salazar off the ALCS roster due to his ongoing right forearm issue.

"He's doing pretty good," Indians manager Terry Francona said recently. "He's not back yet where he's throwing all his pitches or letting it go 100 percent. I think if we ask him to do that, he might be reaching right now. We've been pretty vocal about [how] the first priority is getting him back healthy."

Prior to Sunday, Salazar had been working through his throwing program at the team's complex in Goodyear, Ariz. He was in Arizona during Cleveland's sweep of the Red Sox in the AL Division Series and remained there through the early portion of the ALCS against the Blue Jays.
Salazar, 26, exited a start against the Twins on Sept. 9 after four innings due to a forearm strain, which ended his regular season. He also dealt with elbow and shoulder woes at various points throughout the year, during which he made the AL All-Star team for the first time. In 25 starts, Salazar went 11-6 with a 3.87 ERA and 161 strikeouts in 137 1/3 innings.
