Indians invite OF Daniel Robertson to Major League camp

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Spring Training roster.

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Spring Training roster:
 
Signed free agent OF DANIEL ROBERTSON to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp.
 
Outrighted UTL MICHAEL MARTINEZ from the 40-man roster.
 
Robertson, 31, spent most of the 2016 season in Triple-A Tacoma in the Seattle Mariners organization, hitting .287 (117-408) with 19 doubles, 7 triples, 6 home runs and 46 RBI in 114 games (.357/.412/.769). He also appeared in 9 games with the Major League club in July, batting .263 (5-19) with a 2B and RBI. The versatile Robertson appeared in 38 games at second base, 35 games in left field, 29 games in center field and 16 games in right field for the Rainiers. Robertson began his professional career in the San Diego Padres organization (33rd round, 2008 draft, Oregon State) and made his Major League debut with the Texas Rangers in 2014. He was claimed off waivers by Seattle in November 2015 after spending the 2015 season in the Los Angeles Angels organization.
 
With the outright of Martinez, the 40-man roster is currently at 39 players.
