Indians Invite OF Grossman to Major League Camp

The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has claimed free agent OF Robbie Grossman to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp.

Grossman, 26, has appeared in 190 Major League games with the Houston Astros since debuting in 2013, hitting .240 (160-666) with 30 2B, 2 3B, 11 HR & 63 RBI (.327/.341/.668) for his career to date. He split the 2015 season between Triple-A Fresno and Houston before being released by the Astros on November 19. He began his professional career in the Pirates organization after his 6th round selection in the 2008 Frist-Year Player Draft and was traded to Houston in July 2012 in a four-player deal that sent LHP Wandy Rodriguez to Pittsburgh.
