Indians lead off home schedule with six-game homestand vs. Twins, Padres April 4-9

The Indians return to Progressive Field for a six-game homestand, which features three-game series with the Minnesota Twins (April 4-6; Opening Day, April 4) and San Diego Padres (April 7-9).

Friday's Home Opener sold out in 15 minutes, but there still are good seats available for the remainder of the homestand. Come out and show our rivals that this is Tribe Town!

Opening Day Festivities: On the 20th anniversary of the first game at then-Jacobs Field, we'll celebrate those 20 years, including:

  • Video tribute to the first game at then-Jacobs Field, on April 4, 1994 vs. Seattle
  • Raising a 20th-anniversary flag, which features eight Postseason pennants
  • Recognition of select Season Ticket Holders who have been with the Indians since 1994
  • Recognition of the 2013 Postseason team
  • Mike Hargrove throwing a ceremonial first pitch to Sandy Alomar Jr.
  • Moment of silence for late broadcaster Mike Hegan

Color guards: The Indians will celebrate all five branches of the United States Military with color guards from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.

National Anthem: Members of The Cleveland Orchestra String Section, a number of whom performed the anthem on April 4, 1994, will perform.

Gateway Plaza activities: Budweiser Build-a-Bar serving Budweiser Day-Fresh Drafts, Chevy Corvette Stingrays Display and Progressive Insurance's Flo's Rock N' Rally trailer.

Providence House check presentation: Nick Swisher and his wife, JoAnna, will present a check worth $50,000 to Providence House, a Cleveland shelter that works to assist at-risk families.

Lenten food offerings: Concession stands will offer many options for Catholics in attendance who observe Lenten traditions. They include:
