Indians Promote Cody Anderson from Columbus; Option LHP Kyle Crockett to AAA

CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the Major League roster:

Recalled RHP CODY ANDERSON (#56) from AAA Columbus.

Optioned LHP KYLE CROCKETT to AAA Columbus.

Anderson, 24, has split the 2015 season between AA Akron and AAA Columbus, going a combined 4-3 with a 1.89 ERA in 13 starts (71.1IP, 61H, 15ER, 14BB, 54K). He began the season in Akron, posting a 1.73 ERA in 10 starts (52.0IP, 44H, 10ER) before being promoted to Columbus on June 5. With the Clippers he posted an ERA of 2.33 in 3 starts (19.1IP, 17H, 5ER). He currently owns the second-lowest ERA in the Indians Player Development system. The Quincy, CA native was the club's 14th round selection (428th overall) in the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of Feather River (CA) College and he will be making his Major League debut today vs. the Tampa Bay Rays in Progressive Field.
