Indians rained out in KC; DH set for Sunday

Kazmir to start Saturday; Masterson slated for Game 1 of twin bill

KANSAS CITY -- For the second time in the past four days, the Indians have had a game postponed due to rain.

Cleveland's night game against the Royals on Friday was washed out due to steady showers in Kansas City, and the clubs will make it up as part of a day-night doubleheader on Sunday. It marks the fourth rainout this month for the Indians.

Sunday's games will have scheduled start times of 2:10 p.m. ET and 8:10 p.m. ET. Tickets for Friday's rainout can be used for the night game on Sunday.

Left-hander Scott Kazmir was scheduled to pitch on Friday night for the Tribe, but will instead take the ball in Saturday's 7:10 p.m. ET tilt against the Royals. Sunday's doubleheader will feature Indians sinkerballer Justin Masterson in Game 1, but the Indians have not announced who will start the nightcap. Right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez (originally scheduled to pitch Saturday) will now start on Monday.

It is possible that right-handed starter Corey Kluber, who was moved to the bullpen due to a rainout of a game against the White Sox on Tuesday in Chicago, will take the ball for the Tribe in Game 2 against the Royals on Sunday. Cleveland will also be permitted to promote a 26th player from the Minor Leagues for the doubleheader.

Cleveland also had rainouts on April 10 and 11 at home against the Yankees.
