Indians trade pitcher Adams to Angels

The Indians traded right-hander to the Angels on Friday for cash or a player to be named later. Cleveland also signed left-hander to a Minor League contract.
Adams had been designated for assignment on Tuesday following the Indians' signing of veteran reliever . The 30-year-old Adams pitched in 19 games for Cleveland last season, all in relief, with a 9.82 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 18 1/3 innings. He also had eight saves and a 4.54 ERA in 34 relief appearances for Triple-A Columbus.
Perez spent the 2016 season in Japan, playing for Nippon Professional Baseball's Tokyo Yakult Swallows, where he had an 8.02 ERA in 19 outings, including one start. The 32-year-old posted a 4.50 ERA with 99 strikeouts in 112 innings in 78 Major League games with the Blue Jays from 2011-13.
Perez will report to the Indians' Spring Training facility in Goodyear, Ariz., in March.
