CLEVELAND -- On Wednesday, it was announced that three of the Indians players will be playing in the Arizona Fall League in 2016. Top prospect and outfielder Bradley Zimmer spearheads the trio of players that includes shortstop Yu-Cheng Chang and outfielder Greg Allen.
Zimmer is the Indians' No. 1 prospect, according to MLBPipeline.com. He is also the 28th overall prospect in the Majors on MLBPipeline's Top 100 list. Zimmer was drafted 21st overall in 2014.
The 23-year-old left-handed hitter has played most of the season in Double-A Akron, but he was recently promoted to Triple-A Columbus. In 124 Minor League games this season, Zimmer is hitting .254 with 61 RBIs and 15 home runs.
2016 Arizona Fall League rosters
Chang (No. 15) and Allen (No. 20) are in the team's top 30. Chang has spent the duration of the season with Lynchburg, the Class A Advance affiliate of the Indians. Chang has a .264 batting average with 70 RBIs and 13 home runs. Allen has played 92 games with Lynchburg and 30 games in Akron. He has an average of .300 with 43 RBIs and six home runs.
Both Chang and Allen were involved in the team's attempted trade for then-Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy in late July. Lucroy ended up exercising his no-trade clause and vetoed the trade, keeping both Chang and Allen in the system.
