PEORIA, Ariz. -- Right-hander Carlos Carrasco put together his best start of the spring with three scoreless innings on Wednesday night and third baseman Jose Ramirez provided the offensive punch as the Indians topped Seattle, 14-6, in Cactus League play at Peoria Stadium.
Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager went 2-for-3 with a double and walk and second baseman Mike Freeman chipped in a pair of RBIs, but Seattle couldn't match Cleveland's three-homer night as Ramirez, Erik Kratz and Adam Moore all went deep.

Carrasco had given up six runs and nine hits in 3 1/3 nnings in his first two Cactus League outings, but held Seattle hitless with just one walk and two strikeouts in a smooth 35-pitch performance. Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a double and two runs scored, while Moore provided a seventh-inning grand slam in the runaway win.

"I felt really good today. I felt great. I found my [release] point," Carrasco said. "It was the same point I had last year on my mechanics. I moved my arm a little bit up. I used a lot of fastballs. I only threw maybe two curveballs and five changeups. I just wanted to make sure my fastball was there. I wanted to do everything right."
Seattle starter Hisashi Iwakuma gave up a lone hit in two scoreless frames and Ariel Miranda followed with a 1-2-3 third with two strikeouts, but Cleveland jumped on young lefty reliever James Pazos for five runs in the fourth.
Mariners manager Scott Servais liked what he saw from Miranda in a relief role for the first time as the southpaw was clocking 94-95 mph on his heater.
"He had really an electric fastball tonight, probably the best we've seen from him at any point," Servais said. "He knew he only had one inning and he was just letting it go. It was nice to see."
Seattle's next lefty relief candidate didn't fare as well, as Ramirez and Edwin Encarnacion ripped back-to-back doubles off Pazos, Francisco Mejia added a two-run double and Kratz finished the scoring with a two-run homer to left. After Seattle scored three runs (two earned) off Bryan Shaw in the fifth, the Indians responded with five more in the sixth as Ramirez capped the frame with his three-run blast off Zac Curtis.

Moore took Curtis deep for another homer, this one with the bases loaded in the seventh, as the lefty reliever allowed four hits and five runs while recording just one out.
Indians Up Next: The Tribe is back to Goodyear Ballpark Thursday for a tilt against the Angels with Josh Tomlin on the bump. The spring debuts of Jason Kipnis (right rotator cuff) and Austin Jackson (left knee surgery) are anticipated. Kipnis will DH. The game will be shown live on MLB.TV at 3:05 p.m. ET.
Mariners Up Next: Left-hander James Paxton makes his first Cactus League start in Thursday's 12:05 p.m. PT game against the World Series champion Cubs at Mesa in a game that will be available on Gameday Audio. Paxton gave up two runs in two innings of relief in his first outing, but now moves into the rotation for the rest of spring.
