Sluggers hit 2-run homers in consecutive innings Tuesday

WASHINGTON -- and were among the Baltimore hitters whose bats came alive on Father's Day to snap the Orioles' nine-game losing streak. It was a similar story in Tuesday's series opener against the Nationals, as the two sluggers put the first four runs on the board for the O's at Nationals Park in an eventual 9-7 loss.
With pitcher on first, Peterson homered off Nationals' righty -- who made his first Major League start -- in the third inning to grab his team a 2-1 lead. Mancini followed suit with a two-run shot off Rodriguez in the following inning to build the lead to 4-1.

Peterson came in hot off a 2-for-4 day with a homer and four RBIs on Sunday. Mancini's homer gave him RBIs in two consecutive games for the first time since May 12-13.
