LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick left Monday's 12-9 win over the Braves at Champion Stadium in the eighth inning with a mild right ankle sprain.
Manager A.J. Hinch said that Marisnick tweaked the ankle fielding a ball off the wall earlier in the game, then showed some signs of soreness when he stroked a base hit in the seventh inning. Marisnick tried to wave off the athletic trainer when he went onto the field, but Hinch wasn't having it.
"I didn't like the way he went after the first fly ball that [Preston] Tucker caught [to start the eighth]," Hinch said. "You can tell there was something bothering him. I didn't know if it was a hamstring or quad or calf, so he came out of the game and had a little bit of tenderness in his ankle. We're confident it's a mild ankle sprain."
Marisnick, who entered the game as a pinch-runner for Colby Rasmus, went 1-for-2 and is hitting .163 this spring.
