Jarrett Parker knows something about three-homer games. After being recalled from the Minors last September, Parker, the Giants' No. 18 prospect, erupted to hit five home runs in a three-game span for San Francisco, highlighted by his three-homer performance against the A's on Sept. 26.
On Sunday, Parker went deep three times for the first time in his 648-game Minor League career to power Triple-A Sacramento past Salt Lake, 16-6. It was his seventh multihomer game as a professional.
After his strong showing with the Giants in 2015, Parker has struggled in Triple-A to begin the season, as he entered the day with a batting line of .171/.284/.300, with two home runs and 31 strikeouts in 19 games. The 27-year-old outfielder certainly didn't struggle against the Bees on Sunday, however, going 3-for-4 at the plate with six RBIs, four runs scored and a walk to go along with his trio of homers.
Parker connected on his first blast of the contest in the fourth inning, when he deposited Salt Lake starter Zach Nuding's offering over the wall in the right-center field for a solo home run. He capped a nine-run outburst for the River Cats with a three-run homer off Cody Satterwhite in the sixth inning, and then added a two-run shot against Chris O'Grady in the eighth.
The performance lifted Parker's average and OPS to .203 and .760, respectively, and he's now hit five home runs in 20 games for Sacramento.
