Jeff Bridich named the Colorado Rockies General Manager

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that the Club has named Jeff Bridich the Club's Senior Vice President/General Manager. Prior to this promotion, Bridich has served in a leadership role in the baseball operations department for 10 years, most recently as the Rockies' Senior Director of Player Development, since December 2011.

Executive Vice President, Chief Baseball Officer/General Manager Dan O'Dowd and Assistant General Manager/Senior Vice President of Major League Operations Bill Geivett have resigned.

"First of all I want to thank Dan and Bill for their years of commitment to the Rockies organization," said Rockies Owner/Chairman and CEO Dick Monfort. "They have been friends and colleagues, and their families have been a part of the Rockies family, for a very long time."

Bridich, 37, has spent the past 10 years as a member of the Rockies baseball operations department. He has served the past three years as the club's Senior Director of Player Development. Prior to that, he operated as the Senior Director of Baseball Operations from 2006-2011. Bridich was originally hired as the organization's Manager of Minor League Operations in December of 2004. In his time with the organization, Bridich has assisted in various aspects of the baseball operations department, such as contract issues, player transactions, payroll management, financial and statistical analysis, rules administration and all aspects of Minor League operations.

"I know Jeff is anxious to begin working on the goal of putting a championship team on the field that the Rockies staff, our fans and our region deserve." 

Prior to joining the Rockies, Bridich worked in the Office of the Commissioner for Major League Baseball from 2001-04, working closely with each Major League team in Minor League contracts and transactions. A graduate of Harvard University in 2000, the Milwaukee native played four seasons as a catcher and outfielder for the Crimson, serving as a tri-captain his senior year. Jeff and his wife, Sarah, reside in Denver with their son, Benjamin and daughter, Maya.
