Hellickson set to start Tuesday in return to Rays

DETROIT -- Jeremy Hellickson is ready to go and the right-hander will rejoin the Rays' staff to make his first start of the season Tuesday night against the Royals.

Hellickson had surgery on his right elbow in January to clean up "loose bodies" that at times impinged his throwing motion. He has been rehabbing the past couple of weeks.

The Rays shuffled their roster after Sunday night's 7-3 win over the Tigers at Comerica Park.

Left-hander Jeff Beliveau and infielder Vince Belnome were optioned back to Triple-A Durham. Left-hander Cesar Ramos will come off the paternity list and Hellickson is set to be activated.

Hellickson will take Erik Bedard's spot in the rotation. Bedard will be moved to the bullpen.
