LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers have been talking about the importance of scoring first and they did in their 3-2 walk-off win in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday night when Joc Pederson slugged a two-out home run in the third inning off Rick Porcello for a 1-0 lead.
It was Pederson's fourth home run in 23 World Series at-bats and the first Dodgers extra-base hit in 74 plate appearances.

Pederson, who hit 25 home runs this season, hit a changeup down the middle after striking out in the first inning in a nine-pitch at-bat.
Pederson got the start against the right-handed Porcello after not being included in the starting lineup the first two games of the series because Boston started left-handers Chris Sale and David Price.
The Dodgers came into the game trailing in the best-of-seven series 0-2. Pederson came into the game 0-for-3 in the series and 7-for-27 in the postseason.
