CINCINNATI -- Based on his stunning final four months of the season, it's no surprise which Reds player earned team Most Valuable Player honors.
On Friday, it was announced during Redsfest that first baseman Joey Votto was unanimously voted as the Ernie Lombardi Award winner as the Reds' MVP.
Votto batted .326/.434/.550 with 29 home runs, 34 doubles and 97 RBIs in 158 games. He led the league in on-base percentage, and was second in OPS (.985) and walks (108). As of May 31, he was batting .213, but had a remarkable turnaround that carried him to the end of the 2016 season. He batted .408 in the second half, becoming the first Major League player to bat .400 after the All-Star break since Ichiro Suzuki in 2004.
Reds starting pitcher Dan Straily was the unanimous winner of the Johnny Vander Meer Most Outstanding Pitcher Award. A waiver claim just before Opening Day, Straily was 14-8 with a 3.76 ERA in 34 games -- including 31 starts -- with 191 1/3 innings pitched. He led the pitching staff in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts (162).

Catcher Tucker Barnhart was the recipient of the Joe Nuxhall Good Guy Award.
The three awards were determined by voting from the Cincinnati chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
In other organizational awards, the Reds named Class A Advanced Daytona outfielder Aristides Aquino as the Sheldon "Chief" Bender Award winner as the Reds' Minor League Player of the Year. Aquino, 22, batted .273/.327/.519 with 23 homers and 79 RBIs over 125 games. According to MLBPipeline.com, he is the Reds' No. 21-ranked prospect.
Aquino led all Reds Minor Leaguers in home runs and RBIs, while leading the Florida State League in triples (12), total bases (251) and extra-base hits (61).
The organization's Minor League Hitter of the Year was Shed Long, who batted .293 with 15 homers, 30 doubles and 75 RBIs for Daytona and Class A Dayton. The Pitcher of the Year honors went to left-handed starter Amir Garrett, the Reds' No. 2 prospect, for the second year in a row. Garrett went 7-8 with a 2.55 ERA in 25 games, including 23 starts, between Triple-A Louisville and Double-A Pensacola.
Pensacola right-handed pitcher Barrett Astin was named as the organization's Minor League community service award winner.
