Join us Saturday, August 2 as the Tigers honor Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez during the Ninth Annual ¡Fiesta Tigres! Celebration

DETROIT - The Tigers will host the ninth annual ¡Fiesta Tigres! Celebration, sponsored by Miller Lite, to recognize and honor the contributions of Hispanic and Latino players to the game of baseball on Saturday, August 2 as the Tigers take on the Colorado Rockies at 7:08 pm. Current Tigers players with Hispanic or Latino heritage will be honored as part of the ¡Fiesta Tigres! celebration. In addition, the club will also honor iconic former Tigers player, Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez.

Rodriguez will be the featured guest at the ¡Fiesta Tigres! Luncheon, hosted by Miller Lite on Friday, August 1 at the Tiger Club at Comerica Park. Leaders from the Detroit Hispanic and Latino community will be in attendance at the private luncheon to participate in a special Q&A with Rodriguez and learn more about his time playing baseball in Detroit. On Friday at 11:45 a.m., as a continuation of the ¡Fiesta Tigres! Activities, the Tigers will host a ballpark picnic in the Brushfire Grill for 50 youth baseball and softball players from the Clark Park Coalition in Southwest Detroit. Participants will enjoy a ballpark tour, photos with Tigers mascot PAWS, lunch and a special visit from a Tigers player. The event is designed to provide the opportunity for youth baseball players to visit the ballpark and engage with the Detroit Tigers.

Prior to Friday's game, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy an up close and personal one-on-one interview with Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez on the Comerica Park concourse in the Big Cat Court. The program will begin at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by MLB.com International Reporter Jesse Sanchez.

Returning to ¡Fiesta Tigres! in 2014, Detroit Tigers uniformed personnel will wear a special alternate uniform with the Spanish translation for "Tigers" on the chest. It will mark the second time since 1960 that the club has worn anything other than the Olde English D on their home uniform. Replica jerseys will be sold exclusively at The D Shop, limited quantities available. In addition, Tigres player name and number t-shirts will be available featuring players Miguel Cabrera, Anibal Sanchez, Nick Castellanos and Victor Martinez.

The ¡Fiesta Tigres! pregame events will feature live entertainment on the concourse from traditional Mexican Ballet Folkorico Moyocoyani Izel and Raices Mexicanas de Detroit dance groups, Samba 1 Brazilian Dance Group from Chicago, live salsa and merengue band Orquesta Sensacional, Cuban Jazz by Tumbao Bravo, premiere guitar duo - Los Primos, DJ Tony Toca spinning the latest reggeton, bachata, and a variety of Spanish hits, Mariachi Gallos de Oro and Mariachi Juvenil. The first 15,000 fans 21-and-over will receive an Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez figurine, courtesy of Miller Lite.
