D-backs' Duplantier chosen for Futures Game

PHOENIX -- Arizona right-handed pitcher Jon Duplantier has been named to the U.S. Team for the 2017 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game.
Duplantier, 22, is 6-1 with a 1.31 ERA in 14 appearances this year, with 72 2/3 of his 75 1/3 innings coming with Class A Kane County. He has struck out 83 batters while walking 20 between Kane County and Class A Advanced Visalia. Duplantier began his professional career by throwing 21 2/3 innings without allowing an earned run before the streak ended on May 2.

Drafted by the D-backs in the third round (89th overall) in 2016, Duplantier was tabbed as a third-team All-American by multiple publications at Rice in '16 and earned Conference USA Pitcher of the Year honors. He was listed as Arizona's No. 8 prospect by MLBPipeline.com prior to the start of the '17 season.
