Lucroy wins second straight Heart and Hustle Award

MILWAUKEE -- For the second straight year, catcher Jonathan Lucroy is the Brewers' Heart and Hustle Award winner.

The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association made the announcement Tuesday, billing it as the only award voted on by former big leaguers. The award honors active players "who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and tradition of the game."

"[Jonathan] represents his team well as a dedicated, hardworking player," said Brewers coach John Shelby. "He cares about his team and respects the game."

One player from each Major League team was chosen by the MLBPAA for the award, and an overall winner will be named November 10 after a vote by current and former players. Previous overall winners are David Eckstein (2005), Craig Biggio (2006, 2007), Grady Sizemore (2008), Albert Pujols (2009), Roy Halladay (2010), Torii Hunter (2011), Mike Trout (2012), Dustin Pedroia (2013) and Josh Harrison (2014).
