has been the American League's starting second baseman in the All-Star Game for three straight years, and as he seeks his fourth consecutive starting nod in the Midsummer Classic, he continues to come through in big situations for his Astros.
On Wednesday night at Minute Maid Park, Houston was tied with the AL West-leading Mariners in the seventh inning when Altuve lined a go-ahead single to left field, scoring en route to a 7-5 victory to pull within a game of Seattle.

Altuve, the defending AL Most Valuable Player and a five-time All-Star, is hitting .332/.379/.453 with four home runs and eight steals for the Astros this season. He leads the Majors with 85 hits, including 10 in 10 straight at-bats in late May to eclipse his own franchise record of eight, set last season.
The 89th MLB All-Star Game will take place at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., on July 18.
