Altuve holds lead at 2B on All-Star ballot

Astros second baseman passes 1M votes; Correa 4th at SS

ST. LOUIS -- Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has the lead over Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano as the leading vote-getter among American League second basemen in the latest update for this year's All-Star Game presented by MasterCard.
Altuve, aiming to start the All-Star Game for the second year in a row in what would be his fourth appearance overall, surpassed 1 million votes (1,230,619) and leads Cano (767,882) by 462,767 votes.
Teammate Carlos Correa is still ranked fourth among AL shortstops with 474,730 votes, behind Xander Bogaerts of the Red Sox (1,541,180), Alcides Escobar of the Royals (958,750) and Troy Tulowitzki of the Blue Jays (569,676).

Altuve entered Tuesday leading all AL second basemen in WAR (3.4), on-base percentage (.418), OPS (.970), hits (87), doubles (21), walks (31) and stolen bases (18). He's hitting .344 with 10 homers and 38 RBIs.
