Jose Bautista named Honda Player of the Month

TORONTO BLUE JAYS OF JOSE BAUTISTA has been named the HONDA PLAYER OF THE MONTH for September by the TORONTO CHAPTER of the BBWAA. Honda, the official vehicle of the Blue Jays, will make a donation to the charity of Jose's choosing.

            BAUTISTA hit .299 in September with six home runs to move into a tie for third in franchise history with 203 career home runs. In September was tied for third in the American League with 20 RBI, 2nd in the league with 18 walks and was 5th in on-base percentage. Jose finished the season batting .286 with 35 home runs, 27 doubles, 103 RBI, 101 runs scored and 104 walks while compiling a .403 on-base percentage and a .524 slugging percentage.

Edwin Encarnacion (.292, 6HR, 21RBI) & RHP R.A. Dickey (4-1, 2.48ERA) finished 2nd in the voting, while RHP Marcus Stroman (3-1, 1SV, 2.61 ERA) also received consideration.
