Jose Berrios was absolutely dominant in Triple-A Rochester's 2-0 win over Columbus. Berrios (Twins' No. 1) is the No. 15 overall prospect, and after his electric outing, it's very clear why he's so highly regarded.
The 22-year-old needed just 88 pitches, 60 strikes, to throw eight scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out nine.
"I used [my] curveball for strikeouts; changeup was good, too," Berrios told MiLB.com. "The start before, my changeup [didn't] do very well, so tonight, the changeup worked pretty good and they helped me a lot."

Berrios, a right-hander, struggled when he was called up to the Twins earlier this year, posting a 10.20 ERA in 15 innings. However, aside from two starts, he's been lights out at the Triple-A level. Berrios has made 10 starts for Rochester and has given up two earned runs or less in eight of them.
The rest of the best performances from top prospects Thursday:
• No. 10 overall prospect Brendan Rodgers (Rockies' No. 1) put together another multi-hit game for Class A Asheville. Rodgers went 3-for-4 with a solo homer, marking his sixth three-hit game of the season. The 19-year-old shortstop also has two or more hits in four of his past five games.
• Clint Frazier (Indians' No. 2, No. 23 overall) went 3-for-5 for Double-A Akron and now has eight hits in his last 16 at-bats. The center fielder is tied for the Eastern League lead in doubles with 20 and is hitting .305.
• Aaron Judge reminded everyone just how strong he is with another homer, his 13th, for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yankees' No. 2 prospect (No. 27 overall) went 2-for-3 with a double and has now hit four homers in his past five games.

• Kaleb Cowart (Angels' No. 5) put together his second four-hit game of the season and extended his hitting streak to eight games with a 4-for-5 performance for Triple-A Salt Lake.
• Athletics' No. 3 prospect Matt Chapman hit his 17th homer of the season and drove in a trio of runs for Double-A Midland. He also doubled and finished 2-for-4.

• Blue Jays' No. 12 prospect Ryan Borucki gave up one run in six innings the last time out, and he followed that up with another stellar outing for Class A Lansing. The left-hander threw an even 100 pitches, 70 strikes, in eight innings of one-run ball. Borucki struck out eight and gave up five hits.
• Corey Littrell (Cardinals' No. 23) has made 28 appearances out of the bullpen this year, but in Game 2 of a twin bill, Triple-A Memphis needed him to start and the left-hander came through. Littrell, who has made 50 starts over the past three seasons, struck out two and gave up one hit in 3 1/3 scoreless frames.
• Jacob Hannemann (Cubs' No. 28) bumped his home run total to 10, a career high, with a two-homer game for Double-A Tennessee. The Cubs' prospect went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
• Tyler Beede (Giants' No. 2) has been incredibly consistent for Double-A Richmond this season. The 23-year-old right-hander has thrown at least six innings in seven straight starts and now holds a 2.97 ERA. Beede threw six innings Thursday, struck out seven and gave up one run on five hits.
• For the second time in his past three games, D.J. Peterson (Mariners' No. 6) went yard for Double-A Jackson. Peterson went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and now has 10 homers.
• Mets' No. 17 prospect Thomas Szapucki was aces in his debut for Rookie-level Kingsport, striking out 13 batters over six scoreless innings. Szapucki, a fifth-round pick in 2015, allowed just two hits and no walks.
• Phillies No. 15 prospectTom Eshelman was recently promoted to Double-A Reading and proved he belonged in his first start. The right-hander, whom the Phillies acquired over the offseason, struck out five and gave up one run on seven hits in five innings.
• Rhys Hoskins' power surge continues at Reading. The Phillies' No. 19 prospect went 2-for-5 with a homer, his second in as many days, and now has 19 on the season. The 19 home runs, coming in just 68 games, are already a career high for Hoskins, who hit 17 a season ago.
• Reds' No. 19 prospect Taylor Sparks rounded the bases a couple of times in his second two-homer game of the season. In his first appearance with Double-A Pensacola, Sparks went 2-for-4 with two homers and four RBIs. He now has five hits in his last eight at-bats spanning two levels.

• Rockies' No. 12 prospectGerman Marquez struck out seven for the fourth consecutive start for Hartford. Marquez was stuck with a no-decision, but he threw well, giving up just one earned run on four hits in six innings.
• White Sox No. 9 prospect Courtney Hawkins highlighted Double-A Birmingham's six-run first inning with a three-run homer. The blast was Hawkins' third of the year and was the beginning of his first multi-hit game since June 2, as he finished 3-for-4.
• Jordan Stephens hasn't given up a run in his last 14 2/3 innings after throwing 6 2/3 more scoreless frames for Class A-Advanced Winston-Salem. The White Sox No. 13 prospect walked one, gave up six hits and struck out six.
