Jose Quintana to replace Danny Salazar on American League All-Star roster

This marks the first career Midsummer Classic for Quintana, who is 7-8 with a 3.21 ERA on the season over 18 starts in his fifth Major League season.

American League All-Star manager Ned Yost of the Kansas City Royals announced today his selection of Chicago White Sox left-hander José Quintana to the AL All-Star roster as a replacement for Cleveland Indians right-hander Danny Salazar.
This marks the first career Midsummer Classic for Quintana, who is 7-8 with a 3.21 ERA on the season over 18 starts in his fifth Major League season. In 117.2 innings pitched, the 27-year-old native of Colombia has allowed 42 earned runs on 103 hits with 28 walks and 105 strikeouts. Quintana joins his teammate Chris Sale in representing the White Sox on the AL All-Star roster. 
Salazar, an All-Star for the first time in his fourth Major League season, is 10-3 with a 2.75 ERA over 17 starts. In 104.2 innings pitched, the 26-year-old native of the Dominican Republic has permitted 32 earned runs on 77 hits with 46 walks and 118 strikeouts. Salazar is invited to San Diego with full All-Star honors.
