Omaha Storm Chasers (50-45)

Omaha 4, Colorado Springs 0 (Suspended in the fourth inning)

Omaha's game at Colorado Springs was suspended in the fourth due to rain and unplayable conditions. The contest will be resumed on Aug. 8. Clay Mortensen tossed three scoreless innings, striking out one while holding the Sky Sox to a hit and a walk. Brian Bocock doubled home a pair in the fourth. Whit Merrifield recorded two hits, an RBI and a run before played was halted. Christian Colon was 2-for-2 with a walk in his first game since being optioned from Kansas City. Colon is ranked 14th among Royals prospects by MLB.com. Matt Fields was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

NW Arkansas Naturals (11-11 second half, 36-56 overall)

HR: None

Northwest Arkansas settled for a 2-2 split at Springfield. Starter Tim Melville struck out two while allowing six runs, nine hits and three walks over five-plus innings. Third-ranked Royals prospect Jorge Bonifacio was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Ethan Chapman, Angel Franco and Parker Morin added singles.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (10-11 second half, 43-46 overall)

HR: None

Wilmington dropped to 1-1 vs. Salem as Carson Blair began the ninth with a deciding home run off of Blake Wood. Starter Jonathan Dziedzic held the Red Sox to a run over six innings. He struck out seven, scattering seven hits and two walks. Bubba Starling recorded two hits, including a game-tying single in the sixth. He's batting .298 (25-for-84) since the All-Star break.

Lexington Legends (9-15 second half, 38-56 overall)

Hagerstown 8, Lexington 2
LP: Pedro Fernandez (0-6)
HR: None

Lexington lost a third straight to the Suns, who built an 8-0 lead, capped by five runs in the seventh. Starter Pedro Fernandez yielded three runs and five hits over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out four and did not issue a walk. Kenny Diekroeger was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Idaho Falls Chukars (14-12)

HR: None

Idaho Falls had a five-game winning streak snapped in Game 1 at Great Falls. The Chukars rallied from a 5-0 deficit, scoring three unearned runs in the seventh. Great Falls countered with two solo shots in the home half. Robert Pehl was 2-for-4 plus a run for Idaho Falls.

Burlington Royals (10-13)

Burlington 3, Johnson City 1
WP: Julio Pinto (3-0)
HR: None

Foster Griffin (three innings pitched, no hits, no runs, no walks, two strikeouts) and Julio Pinto (six innings pitched, two hits, one earned run, three walks, six strikeouts) led Burlington to an opening win over the Cards. Griffin was selected 28th overall in last month's First-Year Player Draft. Blue Springs native Logan Moon had two hits, an RBI and a run. D.J. Burt added three hits.
