Royals Minor League Report: July 16

Omaha Storm Chasers (50-41)

Moises Sierra's two-run single lifted Omaha to a 10-inning victory at Nashville as the Chasers opened the "second half" of the season. Scott Alexander earned his first victory, after allowing the tying run to score in the ninth by pitching a flawless 10th. Jose Martinez went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and two runs scored, while Whit Merrifield chipped in a pair of RBI singles.

NW Arkansas Naturals (45-44)

Springfield 8, Northwest Arkansas 1
LP: Cody Reed (1-2 w/ NW Ark, 5-6 overall
HR: None

The Naturals dropped their second-straight to Springfield. Bubba Starling went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and drove in Northwest Arkansas' only run with an RBI double in the first inning. Cody suffered his second loss with the Naturals, allowing seven runs (three earned) over 5.0 innings.

Wilmington Blue Rocks (48-42)

Frederick 8, Wilmington 4
LP: Alex Mills (6-6)
HR: Robert Pehl (2)

Frederick used a five-run second inning to hand Wilmington a second-straight defeat. Santiago Nessy went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Blue Rocks, while Jack Lopez also chipped in a pair of hits. Alec Mills evened his record at 6-6, allowing five runs on five hits in just 1.1 innings.

Lexington Legends (41-47)

Lexington 7, Delmarva 4
WP: Pedro Fernandez (5-1)
HR: None

Lexington snapped a three-game losing streak. Pedro Fernandez tossed 6.0 shutout innings, allowing two hits with no walks and seven strikeouts. Luis Valenzuela collected two hits and scored two runs for the Legends.

Idaho Falls Chukars (9-19)

Idaho Falls 6, Missoula 4
WP: Ian Tompkins (1-0)
HR: Roman Collins (1)

Roman Collins hit a walk-off two-run homer as the Chukars took a wild game from Missoula. Amalani Fukofuka recorded a pair of triples and scored two runs, while Jeckson Flores added a two-run double.

Burlington Royals (7-4)

Pulaski 10, Burlington 3
LP: Ashe Russell (0-1)
HR: Anderson Miller (2)

Pulaski clinched a series victory over Burlington, plating 10 runs in the first four innings. First-round draft pick Ashe Russell suffered his first defeat, allowing six runs in 2.0 innings of work. Anderson Miller hit his second homer of the year for the Royals.
