Keppinger enjoying his offensive turnaround

KANSAS CITY -- After a slow start this season, White Sox infielder Jeff Keppinger is starting to find an offensive groove.

Keppinger drew a start at second base on Saturday and reached base on all four plate appearances with three singles and a walk in a 3-2 win over the Royals. Entering Sunday's series finale, Keppinger was hitting .338 over his previous 20 games.

"I said about a month ago it was going to start coming around for me," Keppinger said. "I think over my last 20 or 25 games it has."

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said he'll continue to find playing opportunities for Keppinger, who has made 34 starts at second base, 19 at third base and one at first base.

"He's not necessarily going to be playing just against lefties," Ventura said. "It's more about matchups."
